Subject: IEEE 1076-2000/1

I have received information from the IEEE that the ballot has passed. There
was one negative ballot and several ballots with comments that will require
review. The specific numbers are:
48 eligible members in the balloting group
37 ballots returned (75%)
36 affirmitive votes (97%)
1 Negative vote
0 Abstentions
One caveat on the ballot passing: Paul Menchini and I have discovered that
at least 1 person was, to use the politically current terminology,
disenfranchised due to poor record keeping on the IEEE's part. Paul is
working with the IEEE to resolve the issue of a few people who requested to
be part of the balloting group and who were DASC/SA and IEEE members, but
that the IEEE disqualified due to the record keeping issue.
No matter how the balloting group membership issues are eventually resolved,
I do not anticipate any changes to the ballot result other than the
possibility of additional comments.
While Paul and the IEEE work the balloting group issue, the ad hoc ballot
response team will work over the next few weeks to review the comments and
resolve any issues. For those on the ballot response team, I will be
travelling until 22 Dec (1/2 the time on vacation/holiday). I will try to
get the comments out for review during that time. Please be patient.
I will keep the WG informed.
