I have read all comments on this issue to date, and must agree with the
emerging consensus to merge 1076a and 1076-1999.
The obvious concern, as Paul points out, is whether there will be
additional snafus to concern us. But, on balance, the merge should provide
a smoother transition to VHDL 1076-1999.
Many of us (including me) argued in New Orleans that we should proceed with
1076a, since we are so close to achieving the OK. Now, that appears no
longer to be true - and a merge should serve us well.
