The VHDL Analysis and Standardization Group (VASG) is the IEEE Working Group responsible for the VHDL standard (IEEE-Std-1076). The following rules apply to this Working Group and this email list:
1. Membership to this email list (stds-vasg@ieee.org) is open to anyone.
2. However, the VASG is part of the Design Automation Standards Committee (DASC) of the IEEE. DASC by-laws require that only DASC members may be voting members of any Working or Study Group under the DASC. Therefore, only DASC members may cast votes on issues which may, from time-to-time, be presented on this email list.
3. If you are not a DASC member but wish to become one, please send an email request to mailto:sbailey@veribest.com requesting a DASC membership application. Membership dues are minimal ($50 US for 1997) and cover the costs administrative and meeting expenses of the DASC and its working and study groups.
4. Although the VASG meets regularly throughout the year (typically in conjunction with EDA-related conferences around the world), meeting minutes and further discussion of issues as well as all significant WG issue votes are conducted via this electronic email list.
5. This email list is the property of the IEEE and may not be used for any purpose except that which is authorized by the IEEE, DASC and VASG. No commercial solicitations or junk email is permitted.
6. Currently, this list is unmoderated and will remain so as long as it is not abused.
